I've Got Youuuu...

Updated: Apr 27, 2021

Hi, hope you guys have been doing good.

The title is the part of the title track of the show I am going to talk about and personally, something I tell my best friend almost everyday.

So, *drum roll*, today, I am going to be fangirling the show "Alexa and Katie", which is available to watch on Netflix and has four seasons and tell you just how relatable the show is to me.

The show is focused on the two main characters, as mentioned in the name of the show, who are the best friend goals, that each of us need, and their families who are neighbours.

The show starts with the premise when Alexa has to battle cancer and how Katie is one of the major support systems for her and their life through school, relationships and how they deal with everything together, and also how they also have each other's backs.

I know the premise might seem sad, personally one of the reasons why it took me so long to watch it, but to be honest, the plot is really wholesome and not as focused on the sad things but on the relationship between them.

Okay, let me start fangirling now.

The show as you know is about two best friends but it also highlights various issues that most of us go through in our daily life (excluding cancer). But it shows the exploration of feelings and relationships, it shows anxiety and stress, it highlights following your passion but one of the most important things, that I absolutely love, is having your best friend, right there beside you, through it all. It shows the true meaning of what friendship is.

They also have so many experiences of doing literally weird things, but always doing it together which reminded me of the weird things I have with my best friend, and I seriously cannot imagine doing those things with anyone else.

It also shows how a lot of things, that society has told us should matter, are not that big of a deal when you are going through something like cancer.

Along with that, we can see how important having a supportive family is, and how them backing your choices and supporting you, is really integral as you go through life.

The show has helped me see how at the end of the day, having a best friend who supports me through everything I do, I have done, and having a family who lets me make independent choices is something I am really grateful for.

Watching Alexa and Katie, mostly just made me appreciate the things and people I have in my life and how it is okay, to not be okay, because my best friend is right there, next to me, always there for me.

I would like definitely recommend watching this show, but watch it with your best friend if you can.

SAPPINESS SCALE - SAPPY+HAPPY+MOPEY.

This ones kind of dedicated to my best friends who are always there for me and I really appreciate you guys.

PS - I binged the last season of this show with my best friend and I don't think we have related to anything as much, as we have this show.

Thank you for reading.

Tell your best friend I love you after reading this.

J.
