Hello, you guys, I hope you are all staying safe. I can say from personal experience that this virus can really be a pain in the ass, so please wear a mask and stay safe!!
Today in this blog, I will be talking about the sitcom show ‘Modern Family’, which is focused on these 12 characters with the addition of a few supporting characters and how they deal with their quirky families.
The show is focused on Jay and his two kids and their families, Jay being remarried to Gloria and having a step kid Manny, his daughter Claire and her family with three kids and Husband Phil and Jay’s son Mitchell and his Husband Cameron along with their one daughter. I know it is a little complex, thus the family tree.
The show revolves around all of them hanging out with each other or everyone together and how involved they are in each other’s lives. The thing I like about this show is how open they are with each other and whatever happens they have each other’s backs. It can be complicated, embarrassing, completely weird, but whatever happens, they are there for each other.
They also show how societal norms exist but also how unimportant they are when you have a supportive family, a support system. You can be whoever you want to be and not care about what society thinks, when you have a family who supports you through thick and thin. I think it is really important for a person to have this, if not with their biological families but even a group of people who are family.
Another thing I love about this show is that we see our characters grow, we see so many of them accept and unlearn things that have been taught to us since we were very young. Things about how we are supposed to be a particular way or the traditional sense of society. But it is so important to see that sometimes what society might not always be right for everyone.
One of the most beautiful descriptions of this in the show is when Mitchell and Cameron are getting married and both their fathers find it difficult to walk them down the aisle but at the end, they understand that it is not about the way society views their kids but it’s the support that they need from their fathers at the moment and they perform the ceremony.
Along with all these, the show is really lighthearted, wholesome and funny. It is something you watch with your family when you have had a long day and want to laugh for a while.
I hope you have an amazing support system for yourself and I hope your tribe really loves you because you are precious the way you are and you deserve all of it.
SAPPINESS SCALE – HAPPY, SAPPY AND SOMETIMES MOPEY.
Thank you for reading!
Stay safe
PS - Just some extra advice from Phil.
