Hello! Welcome back!
This post is about another Disney hero- Rapunzel! The girl with the magical hair! (Sorry if that was a spoiler for anyone) So as I’ve said before, Disney movies are my favorite. I will re-watch these movies a countless amount of times, I’m not even joking. So it is no different for Tangled. I have actually lost count how many times I’ve watched this movie. So, with further ado, let me tell you a bit about this movie!
The movie’s name is Tangled and it stars the lost princess Rapunzel. In the beginning she is shown as sort of a damsel in distress (though I don’t like that phrase here), but it changes tracks. This girl who has lived in a tower her whole life makes the daring choice to set out on an adventure to the lanterns in person for the first time. Don’t worry! She has her trusty chameleon- Pascal, and I have to mention Flynn Rider- her guide. They have a deal that he takes her to the lanterns and she gives him back his satchel. I’ll let you find out the importance of the satchel when you watch the film. Anyway so these three (I’m including Pascal) set out to see the lanterns. During their journey they meet some wholesome ruffians, they have to run away from palace guards and thugs, etc. They have an ADVENTURE!
What I find so amazing about this movie is that Rapunzel is doing something so far out of her comfort zone. Going outside of the tower for the first time EVER in her whole life of 18 years! And she handles it so well. Of course she has her doubts and she is afraid, but she has the determination to push past those uncertainties because its something she really really wants. I know that might not be what most people see, but it is what I see. I also think it’s an important message for all of us. It shows that doing something out of your comfort zone isn’t always easy but if you really want it, it could all be worth it. I believe that the struggle and the efforts that I put into getting something I want or doing something that I think won’t turn out good is never wasted, even if it doesn’t come out the way I had pictured. Confidence is something that is so important for everything a person does, whether in your comfort zone or not.
I think Rapunzel shows that confidence in the movie. Like I said she has the strength to move past her uncertainties, she does not completely drown in them. Its not like she is immediately ready for the adventure, on the contrary. In the movie, we see her freak out at the beginning. She (lowkey) panics. However, she is determined to do this, and she does, with Pascal, Eugene Fitzherbert (Flynn Rider), and her very trust frying pan. Quick note: a frying pan is very good for self-defense. But, back to my point, I believe that the movie shows people that you can do something if you really set your mind to it (cliché, I know). It also shows that its not bad to have help. Rather having someone with you makes it easier, just like Rapunzel has Eugene.
SAPPINESS SCALE: HAPPY AND A LITTLE SAPPY
Thanks for reading! Hope you have a good day!

P.S.: I know I didn’t talk about the romantic arc of the movie, but that’s because I don’t think that was as important as the things I did talk about.
